LIBRARY HOURS & INFO The library is located at 10 Hyde Road in Grand Isle. Open four days a week :
DATES TO REMEMBER Monday August 9, 2010. Trustees meeting, 6:00 P.M. at the library. Open to the public, all interested parties are welcome. August 17 and 18, 2010. Ice cream socials for all those who have read 5 or more books this summer. Please call the library and let us know the day and time you will be attending. Memorial day to Labor day: State Park pass is available at the library. This allows up to 8 people in one vehicle free admittance to Vermont State Park's day parks. Vermont History Museum Pass at the Pavilion Building in Montpelier : free admission with pass. Vermont Historic Sites Pass: free admission for one family or groups of up to 8 People. The ECHO pass is available to registered patrons. It allows up to 2 adults and 3 children admittance for $2.00 each. Borrow a book, borrow the pass. ONGOING PROGRAMS Preschool story time is on Wed. at 10 A.M. BOOK SALE: We have new books that were donated for our ongoing book sale, stop in and browse. The sale is ongoing during library hours in the entryway. NEW LIBRARY CARDS: If you have not come into the library and renewed your card, please do so. All patron cards must have a barcode on them as of Jan. 1, 2008 or you will not be able to borrow materials. LIBRARY NEWS
Anyone who signed up and read five books over the summer is invited to our Ice-Cream social August 17 or 18th. For more information please call 372-4797. You may leave a message and we will get back to you.
With new arrivals in town the library board feels sections of our policy need to be made available to the public. Patrons may check out books for two weeks using bar-coded library cards. Patrons who are unable to visit the library during our scheduled hours are able to appoint a representative to pick up materials as long as the call or send a written note stating the title or genre of book and the number of items. This note must be signed by the patron who is requesting the materials. Patrons can make an appointment for use of the Public Access computer by calling the library during regular hours. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian come into the library and sign a permission form if the child will not be supervised. We do not have censoring software therefore children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while they are on the computer. INTERESTS & INPUT LOOKING FOR IDEAS: If you have an idea for a program you would like to see the library present, please contact us at 372-4797 or We would like to expand the kinds of programs offered to the community. Would you like to join a book club? We would like to start a local book reading club. If you are interested, call the library and leave your name, phone number, and best date and time. You may come into the library with the above info and speak with the librarian with ideas if you wish. In addition to books the library offers a computer with internet Homeschooling parents are encouraged to bring your children into the ONGOING LIBRARY INFORMATION VOLUNTEERS: Anyone interested in volunteering may contact the library, BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY BOOK RETURNS: All books may be dropped in the book return. NO Videos, CD's, DVD's, or Audio Tapes please. Now that cold weather is here these items get brittle and break when a book falls on them. Please try to bring them into the library where it's warm. Thank You. OVERDUE BOOKS: Book roundup time is here. Please return overdue items to the library. We are trying to bar code our materials and they must be in hand to do so. If you haven't come in for a new library card with a bar code, please do so. We would like to get all of our patrons into the computer system. Please check for overdue books and materials and return them to the library. We do not charge fines, no matter how overdue the item is, but we will be billing people for un-returned items.
