VT Fish & Wildlife – Forest Integrity & Habitat Blocks in Grand Isle

We invite you to attend our next Community Planning Meeting on 3/12/24.  This meeting will be focused on forest integrity and habitat blocks, with staff from the Agency of Natural Resources Community Wildlife Program!

What: Community Planning Meeting on Forest Integrity and Habitat Blocks
When: Tuesday, March 12th at 6:00PM
     Where: Grand Isle School Cafeteria

As Grand Isle considers updates to its town plan, a new planning requirement has taken effect asking VT towns to identify forest blocks and habitat connectors. While regulation is not required, the town should understand what is most ecologically important to plan for.

In this presentation, Jens Hawkins-Hilke, a Conservation Planner with Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, will explain the concepts and maps that identify important forest blocks, wildlife habitats, wetlands and more.  Please attend to learn more about the rich natural heritage in Grand Isle.  The meeting format will be a 45 minute presentation followed by Q&A and discussion.

Join us!  Pizza will be served.
