The Grand Isle Free Library (Vermont) has an opening for Library Director.  The Director is responsible for all facets of running the library including but not limited to: 

  • Day-to-day operations 
  • Maintaining a welcoming environment 
  • Programming
  • Interlibrary loans 
  • Annual budget input 
  • Carrying out policies 
  • Managing volunteers 
  • Working with the Board of Trustees.

This is an exciting time for the Town of Grand Isle as we are scheduled to open a new larger Library by year end. We look forward to welcoming a new Library Director with energy, creativity and vision who can help us plan and implement a future of increased space, open hours, services and circulation.

The position is part-time – currently 26 hours per week with an anticipated increase to 29 as of January 1, 2027. Salary commensurate with experience/qualifications; benefits provided. Applicants should have a working knowledge of basic public library concepts and resources and possess a Library Science Degree/Vermont Certificate of Librarianship (https://libraries.vermont.gov/services/continuing-education-and-certification/certificate-public-librarianship) or be in active pursuit of either.
