Special Town Meeting
Town of Grand Isle, Vermont
The legal voters of the Town of Grand Isle are hereby warned and notified to meet for a Special Town Meeting at the Grand Isle Municipal Offices located at 9 Hyde Road in said Town on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Polls are open between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM to vote by Australian ballot on the following article:
Article 1 Shall the legal voters of the Town approve the adoption of the Grand Isle Charter, dated August 17, 2026, containing the following Sections:
Section 1: General Provisions Section 4: Removal of Elected Town Officers
Section 2: Elected Officers Section 5: Application of General Law
Section 3: Appointed officers Section 6: Severability
The Charter in its entirety is available for inspection at the Grand Isle Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours – Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and copies are available upon request. The Grand Ise Charter is also available for review on the Town’s website at www.grandislevt.org.
The legal voters of the Town of Grand Isle are hereby further warned and notified that a public informational hearing will be held to discuss the aforesaid Australian ballot article at the Grand Isle Municipal Offices located at 9 Hyde Road in said Town on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
The legal voters of the Town of Grand Isle are further notified that voter qualification, registration, and absentee voting relative to said Special Town Meeting shall be as provided in Chapters 43, 51 and 55 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
