Thursday: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

The Grand Isle Transfer Station accepts household trash and compost/food scrapes for a nominal fee based on weight.  The Transfer Station also accepts other items, including tires, appliances, construction debris, bathroom fixtures, scrap metal, brush & yard waste, etc., for a fee which varies by item.  

The Grand Isle Transfer Station accepts a range of materials for recycling which are separated by material type (self-serve): cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, metal cans.  There is no charge for recycling.  Information about recyclable items may be found at http://nwswd.org/disposal-a-z/ OR http://nwswd.org/recycle/recycling-in-northwest-vermont/.  

Bulky items (furniture & mattresses) and electronics (tvs, computers, etc.) are not handled at the Grand Isle Transfer Station – the NWSWD Drop-off Site in North Hero (362 W Shore Rd, open Saturdays 8-2) accepts these items.
