Amendment to Grand Isle Town Plan (adopted 02/20/17)

The Selectboard of the Town of Grand Isle will hold a Public Hearing on a proposed Amendment to the Grand
Isle Town Plan (as adopted 2/20/17) on 01/08/2024 at 6pm. The Selectboard invites comments at this Public
Hearing, or written comments can be submitted via email to , or mailed to or
dropped off at the GI Town Offices, 9 Hyde Rd – POB 49, Grand Isle, VT 05458. Written comments should be
submitted by noon on 01/08/2024.
In summary, the Grand Isle Planning Commission has approved (after its Public Hearing on 11/28/23) and has
submitted to the Selectboard a minor Amendment to the existing Grand Isle Town Plan to include the Town’s
intention to apply for Village Designation with the VT Agency of Commerce & Community Development
(ACCD).
The proposed Amended Town Plan replaces the previous plan in its entirety and covers all lands within the
Town of Grand Isle. The Town Plan is meant to guide actions by the Town and development within the Town
for a period of 8 years. In this case, this proposed Amended Grand Isle Town Plan will guide the Town through
to its expiration in February 2025.
The Table of Contents of the proposed Amended Town Plan is as follows, with minor changes to Chapter 4
(pg. 13), and Chapter 13 (pg. 65).
